CONSTITUTION OF CLUB

  1. The name of the Club shall be GUB ICT CLUB.

  1. Club activities will be acted as “Teaching Assistant” of the students, beside their academic classes.
  2. Arrange conferences, seminar, symposiums, competitions among the intra-university students as well as with other university students.
  3. There always will be an ongoing project regarding ICT.
  4. The mission of the Club shall be consistent with the mission of Global University Bangladesh (GUB).
  5. The purpose, activities, and practices of the Club shall not be in conflict with applicable local laws, University policies and procedures presently in force or hereafter enacted.
  6. This Club shall abide by all applicable rules and regulations of the University and under the privileges as granted by the University. This Club shall also abide by the rules and regulations of the University and the Board of Trustees as stated in the statement of Rights and Responsibilities of Registered Student Clubs.

  1. Membership shall be open to all Global University Bangladesh students and must comply with local laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, sex, handicap, age, sexual orientation, or political or religious affiliation. Compliance with these laws means that membership, benefits, and the election of officers will not be made on the basis of these factors.
  2. The Club shall maintain a membership of at least 10 fully matriculated Global University Bangladesh students.
  3. Other members of the University community (defined as current faculty, staff, administrators and alumni) may attend the Club’s meetings and activities but may not conduct business on behalf of the Club, vote, hold positions of responsibility including but not limited to elected, appointed, or volunteer positions or be involved in the finances of the Club.
  4. Membership in the Club shall be given by admission circular.
  5. All Members shall have equal rights and privileges with respect to membership, holding a position, and participating in the election of the Officers of the Club.
  6. Admission fee TK. 200 and monthly TK. 100 must be paid by the members of the club.
  7. Membership will be cancelled if any member doesn't pay his due twice. The member will be warned after a week. To re-join the club re-admission must be needed for that person.

  1. The Officers of the Club shall consist of a President, Vice President, a Secretary, Join Secretary and a Treasurer who shall constitute the Executive Board of the Club.
  2. Additional Officer positions may be created and officers appointed by the Executive Board. The Executive Board may include these appointed officers as part of the Club’s governing body if a description of their responsibilities and authority are included in the Club’s Constitution.
  3. Club is required to have faculty members as advisor. The advisor shall serve as an ex-officio member of the Club. Ex-officio members shall serve only in a non-voting capacity.
  4. All club officers shall be fully matriculated Global University Bangladesh students in good standing with the University.
  5. Any student eligible to be an Officer of the Club shall not be permitted to hold more than one office in the Club at any one time.
  6. In last week of each term of executive committee, the Executive Board of the Club shall call a meeting of the general membership of the Club for the purpose of electing new Officers.
  7. The meeting date for taking nominations and holding elections, as well as the nomination and election process, shall be well publicized to all members of the Club.
  8. The President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Club shall be elected by simple majority vote by the Members present during the election meeting.
  9. The advisor to the Club must be a full-time staff member of Global University Bangladesh. The Club Advisor shall serve as a non-voting member of the Executive Committee and shall provide guidance and administrative assistance.
  10. Any Officer of the Club may resign at any time by delivering a written notice or email of such resignation to the President, or in the case of the resignation of the President, to the Vice President.
  11. If any Officer of the Club is absent from the Global University Bangladesh campus due to a leave of absence or studying aboard the Executive Board shall hold elections to fill the position by following the Clubs’s election procedures.
  12. When an Officer position is vacated, the Executive Board shall hold elections as soon as possible to fill the position by following the Club’s election procedures.
  13. Any Officer of the Club may be removed from such office by a two-thirds (2/3) affirmative vote of the Members.
  14. The officers shall serve for two semesters.
  15. If a vacancy occurs in the office of President, the Vice-President shall assume the office for the remainder of the term and vacancies in any other office shall be filled by a special election.
  16. 80% of the attendance of the previous term must be ensure to qualify as an officer.

  1. President – it shall be the duty of the President to:
    1. Preside at meetings.
    2. Vote only in case of a tie.
    3. Represent the club.
    4. Appoint committee chairpersons subject to the approval of the Executive Committee.
    5. Perform such other duties as ordinarily pertain to this office.

  2. Vice-President – It shall be the duty of the Vice-President to:
    1. Preside in the absence of the President.
    2. Serve as chairperson of the Program Committee.

  3. Secretary – It shall be the duty of the Secretary to:
    1. Record the minutes of all meetings.
    2. Keep a file of the club’s records.
    3. Maintain a current roster of membership.
    4. Issue notices of meetings and conduct the general correspondence of the club.

  4. Treasurer – It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to:
    1. Receive all funds and process Request for Payment, Deposit Slip, and Officer Signature Forms.
    2. Keep an itemized account of all receipts and expenditures and make reports as directed.

  1. Meetings – Regular meetings shall be held monthly during the regular school year.
  2. Special Meeting – Special meetings may be called by the President with the approval of the Executive Committee.
  3. Quorum – A quorum shall consist of [example: two-thirds (2/3)] of the membership.
  4. All Members shall be notified of any Meeting and the nature of the business to be transacted there at least one day before such Meeting. No Meeting shall be called with the intent to exclude any one Member or any portion of the Membership.
  5. The Executive Committee of the Club shall meet at least once before any Meeting of the Membership at such time and place to be determined by the President. At such Meetings of the Executive Committee a quorum shall be deemed to be the attendance of any three (3) members of the Executive Committee. The Vice President shall reside over this meeting. The President shall reside over the meeting when the Vice President is unable to attend the meeting.
